Wellbeing

At our school, student wellbeing and learning go hand in hand. We want every student to feel safe, included and ready to learn. Whether your child needs help with their mental, emotional, social or physical wellbeing, we are here to help them thrive at school and in daily life.

How we support student wellbeing

Supporting each student’s mental, emotional, social and physical wellbeing is part of everyday school life.

The Resilience Project

Cronulla Public School is a partnership school with The Resilience Project. Students from K-6 have scheduled lessons to engage with the program and, in turn, be better prepared for learning. The Resilience Project program aims to teach young people positive mental health strategies that will make them feel happier and be more resilient. This is centred on the core principles — Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy.

Schools have a unique opportunity to improve the mental health outcomes for young people and positively influence the wellbeing of a whole school community. By focusing on building wellbeing strategies, we provide individuals with the understanding and tools to manage life's challenges and stressors. This approach also fosters a happier, calmer and more resilient school environment.

When schools, families and communities speak the same language around mental health, our young people thrive. The Resilience Project's Family Hub is designed to keep families in the loop, inspire everyday wellbeing practices at home, and help strengthen the connection between what your child is learning in the classroom and how you support them in life.

Below you’ll find bite-sized videos, practical tips and family-friendly ideas to help build healthy habits.
